Is being over weight a psychological problem or just the result of eating too much?

The majority of weight problems are simply the result of poor eating and exercise.

So why will hypnotherapy help?

Because through Hypnosis we deal directly with the subconscious part of the mind, the thought patterns and feelings that trigger the over eating can be changed. This brings about an effective change in eating habits without the client feeling as though they are on a diet, therefore they don't feel deprived of food, do not get cravings for food and don't return to old eating habits. 

Unconcious eaters, are people who are unaware of all the food they are putting into their mouths, for example, eating while watching a movie, snacking at work picking up biscuits, cakes, sweets throughout the day as they go about their normal daily routine and are just unaware of the amount they are eating.

There are generally three types of over eaters, Emotional eaters, Conditioned eaters and Unconscious eaters. If you over eat it could be for anyone of these 3 reasons, or in fact a combination of any or all of them. In order to deal with a weight problem first of all  you need to understand it.

  • Going into a state of hypnosis is a very normal natural activity.
  • Most people describe hypnosis as a restful state where they are still aware, in control, but very relaxed, much like the twilight time before sleep.
  • A person hypnotized is aware of everything the hypnotist says at all times.
  • Persons under hypnosis will always awaken from hypnosis easily.
  • Persons in hypnosis will remain in control of themselves at all times.
  • No person can be hypnotized without their consent, cooperation and willingness.
  • No one can be made to do anything they are morally opposed to during hypnosis    (in fact most people appear more ethical during hypnosis)
  • Hypnosis is not a miraculous power.
  •  Hypnosis merely enables your mind to access and use your own natural healing and physical abilities, to assist in healing or physical accomplishment.
  • Hypnosis allows your subconscious mind to accept positive suggestions
  • Hypnotic suggestions can change or release unwanted behavior patterns
  • Hypnosis can strengthen any part of your personality or ability that you desire.
  • Hypnosis actually strengthens the will and improves the powers of the mind.
  • All hypnosis is self induced hypnosis, but external suggestion can trigger it.
  • Hypnosis is not like sleep, nor is it like a zombie state or total unconsciousness.
  • Hypnosis cannot make someone do something that is against their morals or beliefs.


     However:

  •  In Hypnosis a subject can release subconscious programs that control them.
  • In deep Hypnosis a subject can stimulate or increase healing ability. 
  • In Hypnosis a subject can improve or change any physical or mental ability.
  • In hypnosis a subject can modify or change their emotional state or feelings hypnosis can release causes for fears or phobias, then  release them.
  • Hypnosis can create or increase positive moods or feelings (joy, enthusiasm, etc.)
  • Hypnosis can assist or accelerate any natural body reactions or ability.
  • Hypnosis can change habit patterns (ie: remove bad habits).
  • Hypnosis can help release unwanted patterns like post traumatic stress reactions.

Emotional eaters,  as the title implies eat due to emotion, for example  because of stress , boredom, loneliness, in an attempt to make themselves feel better.

Conditioned eaters, are people who overeat often due to early childhood conditioning. for example, a child is made to feel guilty if they leave anything on their plate and their told there are starving children out there who would be grateful for that. 


It could be someone who has been cooking for a family for years , then the children move out, but they continue to cook the same amount of food and would feel guilty if they left it, so instead of changing the amount they cook or throwing it away they just keep eating.


A lot of people just keep eating because they have been conditioned to like the full bloated feeling they get after eating a large meal which is not so bad if it happens every now and again but not on a regular basis.
